Lindsey Tree Services Woodyard, Grimsby,Lincolnshire

A showery day today with either black clouds or lovely sun and a very cold northerly wind blowing straight into the hide. I had been out to Ravendale school where, until retirement, I had been head teacher in order to go with the children to collect their Christmas tree - an absolute delight. On my way back I called into the office for a cup of tea with John - the gaffer - and to pick up the yard keys and then off to the hide. Again I heard redshank calling and a sparrowhawk shot through the plantation chasing some unfortunate prey. The big news however is that I managed to photograph the woodecker on the stump that Scott had put in way back in 2005. I now need pictures without the peanut pudding showing!!!
