Black-necked Grebes

I set off early this morning on a quest for black-necked grebes. I had seen photographs of these birds and couldn't wait to get live views of them. I arrived at the described location at about 10.00 in the morning with the skies still clear and sunny (although that wasn't to last long). It was quite a walk carrying a heavy rucksack loaded with camera gear and camera and 500 lens on a monopod over my shoulder. It was well worth the effort though as the birds were both confiding and absolutely stunning. What a wonderful lifer!!!!
